Step4 Domain Activation – AeyeScan Support Portal

To confirm that the domain information registered in Step 3 is your environment, enable domain activation.

Please choose from the following three methods according to your environment.

* This step is not required if you have subscribed to the Activation Skip option.

* If you are using AWS API Gateway, please refer to the following article:

Method 1: Placing the AeyeScan key file on the target domain server

Domain activation can be enabled by placing the AeyeScan key file on the target domain server.

* Please select another method if you cannot perform operations on the target domain server.

From the top page, click 1 "Scan Menu" - 2 "Domain Activation".
Click "Download Key File".
Place the file downloaded in step 2 in the document root of the target domain server.

* Please place it according to your environment.
Open a browser and make sure that the root path of the file placed in step 3 can be accessed.
Return to the AeyeScan page and click "Activation" for the target domain.
Domain activation has been performed, and the target domain is now "Active".

* Please proceed to "Step 5: Scan Registration and Crawl Execution" from "Next Step >" at the bottom of the page.

Domain activation can be enabled by setting the AeyeScan key in the TXT record of the target domain in DNS.

* Please select another method if you cannot perform operations in DNS.

Note

From the top page, click 1 "Scan Menu" - 2 "Domain Activation".
Copy the following key displayed on the AeyeScan page.
In DNS, add the key copied in step 2 to the TXT record of the target domain.

* If you want to enable domain activation for subdomains,

specifying a higher-level domain will also subject its subdomains to activation.

e.g. Specifying example.com will also enable the following subdomains:

　　sub1.example.com
　　sub2.example.com
Run the following command.

　nslookup -type=TXT Target domain name (e.g. example.com)

* Enter the target domain name according to your environment.
As a result of running the command, the key added in step 3 will be displayed as follows:
e.g. If the target domain is example.com:

　example.com text="aeyescan-activation=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX"

　* The added key will be displayed in "XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX".

　* If it is not displayed, please check if there are any errors in the settings.
Return to the AeyeScan page and click "Activation" for the target domain.
Domain activation has been performed, and the target domain is now "Active".
* Please proceed to "Step 5: Scan Registration and Crawl Execution" from "Next Step >" at the bottom of the page.

Domain activation can be enabled using the server administrator email address of the target domain.

* Please select another method if the server administrator email address of the target domain is not available.

Note

From the top page, click 1 "Scan Menu" - 2 "Domain Activation".
Click "✉" for the target domain.
1 Select the server administrator email address of the target domain, and 2 click "Send Email".

* If you want to enable domain activation for a subdomain,

you can use the email address of the higher-level domain.

e.g. When enabling the following subdomains, you can select root@example.com:

sub1.example.com
sub2.example.com
Check the email received with the following subject and copy the provided "Activation Key".
Subject: [AeyeScan] Activation Key Issuance
Return to AeyeScan, 1 paste the "Activation Key" copied in step 4, and
2 click "Activate".
Domain activation has been performed, and the status of the target domain is now "Active".

* Please proceed to "Step 5: Scan Registration and Crawl Execution" from "Next Step >" at the bottom of the page.
