Troubleshooting "Scan Paused" Errors
If a crawl fails and the status changes to "Scan Paused," one of the error messages listed below will be displayed.
Find your specific error message below to see its cause and the recommended solution.
"Scan Paused" Error Messages
| Error Messages | Solutions |
| The scan for ID:〇〇 was paused due to a login failure. | Please check "When Blocked by Security Devices (WAF/IPS, etc.)" and "When Login Fails" |
| The scan for ID:〇〇 was paused due to no response from the site. | Please check "When Blocked by Security Devices (WAF/IPS, etc.)" and "When the Target Site is Down Due to Scan Load" |
| The scan for ID:〇〇 was paused due to excessive AeyeScan load. | Please check "When AeyeScan is Experiencing a High System Load" |
When Blocked by Security Devices (WAF/IPS, etc.)
If you have security devices such as an IDS, IPS, or WAF installed, AeyeScan's traffic may be detected as an attack and blocked.
If this is the case, please configure your security devices to whitelist AeyeScan’s IP addresses so they are not blocked.
For details on our source IP addresses, please refer to the following article:
https://www.aeyescan.help/hc/en-us/articles/37803082323609
Please note that AeyeScan's IP address may already be blocked.
If so, please refer to the article below and use the "Connection Test" feature to check if the target site's top URL is accessible.
https://www.aeyescan.help/hc/en-us/articles/37804932489113
Note: Even if you can access the target site from your own browser, a failed connection test suggests that AeyeScan's IP address may be blocked. Please unblock the IP address in your security device settings and try the crawl again.
When the Target Site is Down Due to Scan Load
The target site's server may be experiencing a high load during the scan, causing it to become temporarily unresponsive.
AeyeScan is designed to periodically access the specified top URL during a scan to check the target site's responsiveness.
First, please use the "Connection Test" feature to verify whether the top URL of the target site is accessible from the AeyeScan environment.
If it is accessible, change the scan speed to "Slow" or "1 Browser" and try running the scan again.
Note: Even if you specify an alternative URL using the Manual Crawl feature, AeyeScan will still access the top URL specified in the basic scan settings to check the response status.
When Login Fails
If the target site restricts concurrent (multiple) logins, the scan may have stopped because the login process failed during execution.
Please refer to the FAQ article below to see if adjusting your settings resolves the issue.
https://www.aeyescan.help/hc/en-us/articles/37802226280985
Additionally, the post-login pages may be temporarily unresponsive due to high server load during the scan.
Please check if you can log in successfully using your own browser.
When AeyeScan is Experiencing a High System Load
If AeyeScan itself remains under a high system load, the scan may be stopped, and the error message listed below will be notified.
If you encounter this error, please lower the scan speed and resume the scan.
If the scan progress still stalls after resuming, and the scan continues to stop repeatedly, please refer to the article below and contact our support team for assistance.
